MIGHTY LEMONS

The MIGHTY LEMONS are an award-winning, all-singing, all-playing ukulele rock band who firmly believe that there are no musical boundaries that can’t be overcome with a tiny guitar, a big attitude and absolutely no sense of restraint.
Formed in 2015 by a bunch of mates who had spent decades playing in various “serious” bands, the MIGHTY LEMONS set out to do something rather more fun. Inspired by the anarchic spirit of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, they took the humble ukulele, stood up, turned the volume up and started playing everything from classic rock to modern pop.
The result is a gloriously unexpected fusion of singalong favourites, foot-tapping pop, rock classics and light-hearted comedy. Expect songs you know and love, but played in ways you probably never imagined possible on fun-sized guitars. Add drums, melodica, kazoo, keytar, Theremin and an occasional three-piece brass section — the mighty FRUITY TOOTS — and you begin to understand where the MIGHTY LEMONS get their BIG sound from.
Their repertoire can leap effortlessly from AC/DC to Bruno Mars, Queen to modern pop, with everything delivered with energy, musicianship and a generous helping of silliness. Their take on a rock classic can turn the heaviest riff into something surprisingly jaunty, while their pop favourites are transformed into full-on ukulele anthems.
Since forming, the MIGHTY LEMONS have brought their unique brand of musical mayhem to festivals, pubs and events across the UK, including the Yateley's Gig on the Green, Phoenix Green Music Festival, Shrewsbury Ukulele Festival, Blackwater Valley Beer & Wine Festival, Wilton Beer Festival and Guildford Cheese & Chilli Festival. They have also headlined the Bristol, Southdowns, Hayling Island and Box Ukulele Festivals.
And they’re not just award-winning in their own minds: in 2017, the MIGHTY LEMONS took First Prize for their video at the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain.

Formed in 2015 by experienced musicians with a dangerous lack of good judgement, the LEMONS blast through rock classics and pop favourites with ukuleles, drums, melodica, kazoo, keytar, Theremin — and, when required, the mighty FRUITY TOOTS brass section.
Think stadium rock attitude delivered on tiny guitars.
They've played festivals, pubs and events across the UK, including the Shrewbury Ukulele Festival, Guildford Cheese & Chilli Festival and Wilton Beer Festival, and have headlined several ukulele festivals. In 2017, they won First Prize for their video at the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain.

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves.
Forget everything you thought you knew about the ukulele.
Because somewhere between AC/DC, Bruno Mars, Queen, several questionable life choices and a shed full of tiny guitars, the MIGHTY LEMONS happened.
And frankly, nobody has quite recovered.
Formed in 2015 by a gang of experienced musicians who presumably knew better, the MIGHTY LEMONS set out to answer one of humanity’s great unanswered questions:
“Can you make a ukulele rock band sound REALLY, REALLY LOUD?”
The answer, emphatically, is YES.
These are not your grandmother’s ukulele players.
The MIGHTY LEMONS take the world’s most deceptively innocent instrument and subject it to the full force of rock, pop, comedy, dubious musical decisions and an alarming amount of enthusiasm. The result is a high-energy live show in which massive riffs, huge choruses and songs you absolutely know somehow emerge from instruments that look like they should be kept in a doll’s house.
And then things get weird.
There are drums.
There is melodica.
There is kazoo.
There is a keytar.
There is a Theremin.
And, on special occasions, there is the mighty FRUITY TOOTS — a three-piece brass section whose very existence raises several important questions about where this band is heading.
Nobody knows.
Least of all them.
Their repertoire fearlessly ricochets between rock classics, pop anthems and unexpected musical detours. One minute you're being hit with a familiar guitar riff. The next, you're wondering how on earth that riff is being played on a collection of tiny four-stringed instruments while a grown adult makes noises at a Theremin.
It shouldn't work.
It absolutely does.
